First Customers

Peg and Fritz Horisk have eaten a lot of vegetables the last 7 years. Peg saw one of my flyers in a doctors office 7 years ago and they have been CSA members ever since. Peg has had several serious health problems over the years and is committed to eating good, clean food to keep her and Fritz healthy.

Peg recently retired from her work as an activity coordinator at a retirement home. Fritz is an on-air personality at WSIG radio in Harrisonburg and runs a weekly open mic night at Queen City Brewing on Wednesday night at 7 pm.

Fritz also performs at nursing homes around the state. And you can often catch him playing gigs around Staunton. I like to tease Fritz that he’s my oldest customer, but in reality he and Peg are my longest running CSA members. I would guess they’ve eaten more of my vegetables than anyone else on the planet.

Getting to know Fritz and Peggy, and all my CSA members, is one of the greatest joys of having Geezer Farm. I love getting to know my customers. I really do look forward to seeing them each week when they pick up their shares. And to keep their long-running streak alive, Peg and Fritz dropped by the other day to be the first members to make their deposit for 2019.
